Principal Weekly Update

February 16, 2020

Hello Lee Families,

Hope you had a great weekend with your children! ♥️

Kindness Week continues at Lee! Throughout our days we talk about, teach, and expect kindness from all our students and adults. Our mission is to create peace through leadership, service, friendships, and thoughtful acts of kindness.

Students took home hearts on Friday. They have been challenged to fill them out when they do something kind at home, at school or in their community and then return them to school for stickers and a kindness bracelet. Watch for the bulletin board we are making at school with all the returned acts of kindness we have done for others!

Thanks for partnering with us to change the world! Jamil Zaki shared "The positive effects of kindness are experienced in the brain of everyone who witnessed the act, improving their mood and making them more likely to do something kind for someone else." This means one good deed by anyone can create a domino effect and improve the day of dozens of people! It has been heart warming to see a school full of people showing kind gestures and selfless acts towards each other. What a great example our children could be towards our community...and world!

Have a great week!

Take care,

Cherie Switzer
