Principal Weekly Update

Welcome Back Letter:

August 18, 2016

Hello Student,

I hope you have had a fabulous summer with your family! I can’t wait to see you, and hear all about what you have been doing the last couple of months.

It is very quiet here without you around! When you come back, you are going be surprised by the new classroom that has been built in the learning center. We also have some new teachers at Lee, and many new students who will be looking for new friends! Mr. Lam and Mr. Waldon have been working hard to get everything painted and sparkling clean; the teachers have been running around like crazy people planning and organizing their classrooms; and Mrs. Parker and I have been making sure everything is ready for you to come back to Lee and grow your brains! :)

It is really important, that when school starts, you come to school and get home safely! Most of the children at Lee school walk or have a parent drive them, so please remind the adults that help you get to and from school, to check out the attached information about our Pick-Up/Drop-Off procedures. Also, with this letter, comes a Dismissal Note. Please have your family fill out this form, and either bring it to Meet and Greet with you, or to school on the first day. These things will help make sure you get home safe!

I know you are excited to hear who your teacher is for this school year. We have taken a lot of time to find just the right ‘learning place’ for you. You are going to have a great year, and learn tons of great things with your new teacher!

These emails are helpful and your grown-ups will know everything that is going on at Lee School! Of course, they are always welcome to call and talk to me at 503-263-7150 or email me at!

Have a great last few days of summer and I am so excited to see you all at school!

Lee Weekly Update for Week of June 6th

Hello Lee Families,

It is hard to believe in three short days our school year will come to an end and summer will begin! It has been a fabulous year full of challenges and successes! My hope is that each and every student will leave Lee school on Wednesday feeling the love we have for them, the patience we have had with them, the pride we have in them, and the hope we have for them! Their future is limitless and we are excited to watch and celebrate their accomplishments!

Remember…it is critical to continue helping your students brain grow over the summer! Get involved in the Canby Library Summer reading program (; make time for your children to practice their math skills on IXL (ttps://; walk or drive to new places and talk about what you see; have them keep a summer journal, make grocery lists, etc. The main idea is to keep them thinking and talking about their learning!

Enjoy your summer together! We look forward to seeing our Lee families again in August!

Take care,

We are still looking for volunteers for the 6th Grade Dance and Field Day!
